Description

In this world, the Deadlands is an environment severely impacted by high magical frequencies. It is a dangerous and foreboding place where living creatures are ensnared through undead minions or mental manipulation, feeding off their very life force. The land is known to grow in strength and size with each death that occurs within its borders.

Once a person dies in the Deadlands, everything but their bones is harvested to grow the land while their bones are imbued with magic to create mindless yet loyal minions. These minions, known as skeletons, are armed with weapons and some even have access to magic. While they may not be too much of a threat on their own, their danger increases exponentially as their numbers grow.

As the Fantasy Portal Merchant, I work with monster hunters and necromancers to safely capture these skeletons and remove the imbued magic from them. Then, we do our best to identify who they were and return the bones to the appropriate loved ones. In some cases, we are unable to identify the bones or their owners, and with the approval of the town and city leaders, our necromancers can imbue them with their own magic to make decent security guards for traveling groups. We have even created tiny magic capsules to store these skeletons when not in use. Simply throw the capsule on the ground when you need to summon your skeletal guardian. Come on by and get your own guard!
